Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Biznesa procesu reorganizācija komercbankās”. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt, kā biznesa procesu reorganizācija tika ieviesta PSB bankā Krievijā, un novērtēt tās ietekmi uz banku un tās klientiem. Darba saturs ir sadalīts trīs daļās. Pirmajā daļā tiek sniegts teorētiskais atspoguļojums ar piedāvātajām biznesa procesu reorganizācijas definīcijām un teorijām (turpmāk - BPR). Darba otrajā daļā ir ietverta vispārīga informācija par PSB Banku Krievijā, un ieviestās BPR analīze. Darba pēdējā daļa ir empīrisks pētījums, kas sniedz kvantitatīvu analīzi par BRP ietekmi, kas ieviesta PSB bankā, Krievijā.
The impact of Kaizen Events on improving the performance of automotive components' first-tier suppliers

Purpose - The aim of this paper is to explore the possibility of improving production indicators by implementing Kaizen Events. The teams are composed of both managers and operators with the aim of developing and/or implementing improvements in three to five days. The Role of Different Approaches in Inspection Process Improvement

There is a need to better understand improvement of software inspection practices. Typically process improvement is driven by different reference models like CMMI. In the previous work we found that such model based approach alone didn’t provide sufficient support for inspection process improvement. This paper outlines an overall picture of inspection process improvement and four different approaches for it. These approaches are seen as complementary and the focus of the paper is on describing their role in the improvement process.
Using organizational influence processes to overcome IS implementation barriers: lessons from a longitudinal case study of SPI implementation

A fundamental tenet of the information systems (IS) discipline holds that: (a) a lack of formal power and influence over the organization targeted for change, (b) weak support from top management, and (c) organizational memories of prior failures are barriers to implementation success. Our research, informed by organization influence, compellingly illustrates that such conditions do not necessarily doom a project to failure. One such measure is analyzing root causes of recurring faults and preventing them from appearing again. Previous methods developed for this purpose have been reactive in nature and relied heavily on fault reporting mechanisms of ogranizations. Additionally, previous efforts lack a defined mechanism for innovating corrective actions. A unit of Fortum Service Ltd. operates and maintains the Rauhalahti power plant in Central Finland. In 1996-97, the unit launched a project pursuing coordinated organizationwide electronic document management (EDM). This case follows deliberate and emergent changes related to document management in the organization since the initiation of the project until February 2000. New information technologies were adopted, and responsibilities for continuous improvement of EDM were assigned. The continuous improvement was implemented as an extension of the ISO 9002 quality system earlier adopted for process improvement. Issues in Software Inspection Practices

The motivation for this research comes from a need to improve software inspection practices in software organizations. Even if inspections are well defined and regularly used in an organization, there may be some problems which can greatly reduce inspection effectiveness. The paper presents a list of inspection related problems which are known in the literature. It also relates some experiences from two case organizations. In addition, this paper provides an approach which helps identifying problems of this kind and directing limited improvement resources effectively.
An Information Systems Design Product Theory for Software Project Estimation and Measurement Systems

There is relatively little research on software Project Estimation and Measurement Systems (PEMS). Commercial PEMS vary in functionality and effectiveness. Their intended users thus do not know what to expect from PEMS and how to evaluate them. This paper creates an information system design product theory for the class of PEMS that prescribes the meta-requirements, the meta-design, and applicable theories for all products within the class. Meta-requirements and the meta-design are derived from the project estimation and measurement literature, experiences obtained during more than ten years of empirical work in Finnish Software Measurement Association, and a commercially available PEMS.
